2010, The Year of Liu Wen

It’s almost the end of 2010, so I figured I should post these pictures I have of Liu Wen before they become less relevant… by that I mean that superduper Chinese model Liu Wen had a stellar year which will be hard to match in the future.

For starters, she was in the UMA WANG SS11 show at Shanghai Fashion Week. Here she is during a shoe rehearsal, and I LOVE her crazy jeans and chunky knit sweater. She definitely has her own style:

Her style (both clothing style and modeling style) likely helped to launch her to supermodel status over the past years. She became the first East Asian model to model for Victoria’s Secret, was on the cover of the first Chinese edition of Numero Magazine, and booked over 70 shows for the SS10 season, making her the second most booked model that season behind French model Constance Jablonski.

(PS – check out her awesome sneakers! She’s definitely one individual helping the Chinese Fashion System to mature with her own, individualized aesthetic.)
